2020 Vision

Happy New Year!

I hope you had a wonderful celebration to ring in the new year. As I am sitting here at my kitchen table having my first cup of coffe, thinking about what my 2020 vision is, I figured I mind as well share it with you.

New Year resolutions?

I don’t make them any longer, instead I try to plan things that I know I can do and it is a much better approach to see what you have accomplished at the end of the year. In 2019, my plan was to revive my online business Sew-Geek. My plan to work on my mental health was successful. I am much better and happier.

But my husband and I made a plan to fix our financial health over the next 24 months. One of our goals is to get both our children through 4 years of college, with no debt to them. We sat down, looked at our finances, and came up with a plan that is doable. I have also been watching some interesting videos on Youtube, where people put themselves on a no spend year,  I am going to modify this to fit our families need. We are planning a vacation this summer on the Gulf Coast, which we accounted for in our plan. You need a Budget is a great program that has helped me in the past year, therefore I can only recommend it.

Another goal this year is to declutter and minimize the things we have. That also goes for my business Sew-Geek, I need to get back into sewing things, now that my elbow is at 85% fully recovered. There is so much fabric in my studio, that I will make into things. My closet is a mess that I need to clean out. So many clothes in there don’t fit me any longer, I will either donate or sell them. Our County Women’s Shelter has a retail store, so I am donating there. The decluttering will help with my feelings of overwhelm.

My health and fitness goal is to lose 50lb. That is 1lb. a week. If it turns out to be more that’s great. The reason I set the goal lower than last year is, cause I have not lost any weight this past year. So this number is attainable, it breaks down to 1lb a week. For the blog, my goal is to get
