I do this article on my business page Sew-Geek as well. Some things will be the same, and some things will be different. So here are my July Favorites for you:
Beyond the Gender Binary by Alok Vaid-Menon
This amazing book has given me insights and explanations, that my non-binary child wasn’t able to express. It also has opened my eyes to a non-binary world. It makes so much sense and yes, fashion has no gender. If you have questions about non-binary persons, this book is a great start.
Tabletop Teas is an amazing company, that makes amazing handcrafted tea blends with a geeky twist. I have been working with them to make my Supernatural Teablends for Sew-Geek, but I love her teas just as much. My two favorites are Kravitz, which I drink in the mornings. It’s like having a blueberry muffin, even thou there are no blueberries in it. My second favorite is Mountain, I love rooibos and this is such a beautiful tea, with all of its cinnamony goodness. Perfect for a rainy day.
We had bought a new couch in March and boy am I glad we did, cause we have spend a lot of time on that couch in the recent 4 months. It is fance and has cupholders, but I ran into the problem of none of my mugs would fit into the cup holders and I love having tea in the evening. So I got me this awesome Kati Tea Cup from Tea Forte. It fits perfectly and makes just the right amount of tea. It has an infuser and a lid and can all go in the dishwasher. It holds about 12oz.
My Hero Academia on Hulu
This is an anime my kids got me into watching. It is so silly and fun and perfect to take care of yourself if the world seems to cave in. It’s about a group of teenagers learning how to use their powers in their pursuit to become pro heroes.
The Untamed on Netflix
I watched this for the second time in July and love it just as much as I loved it the first time I watched it. Maybe even a bit more, I am also in the process of reading the novel. (Warning this is a Boy Love Novel) This show is a Chinese Costume Drama and to me, the costumes alone are worth watching it. But since this was made in China they were not allowed to show the love the main male characters have in the novel. But rest assured, you know that they love each other in the show as the actors were able to convey it with glances and looks. The story is about the carefree Wei Wuxian and how he fell into the demonic cultivation and LanZhan who is there to help him. Just give it a try, you won’t regret it.
Happy Planner Classic
I have been using the Happy Planner Classic for the last 2 years and I was in the market for a new one. After some search, I found this awesome one. It’s called the Boho Stargazer and its 18months with a vertical layout. What I love about this planner system is, that it lets me add pages very easily so I have a running to-do list every week. I also put my meals for the week in the planner on top of Trello. Check out my blog post on meal planning with Trello. The layout and the colors in this one are just perfect for me.
And there you have it, my July Favorites of 2020. I can’t wait to see what I like in August.
